Memo #16
At this point you should have received notification from each college about whether you got in or not and whether you received any scholarship money. Copies of all of these letters (good news and bad news) should be brought in to the College Placement Office by Monday, April 19, if you have not already done so. If we do not receive copies of these letters, scholarships will not be listed under your name in the graduation program because we will not know what scholarships you received.
Just a reminder: Before you go on the senior trip you need to decide which college you are planning to attend. You also need to send in your deposit to that school by May 1st. Since this date occurs when you are in Florida, you need to mail the deposit before you go on the trip to ensure that it will get to the college in time to reserve your spot in the class of 2014 at that school.
If you are on the wait list at a particular college and it is your top choice, you still need to send in a deposit to another college before May 1st or you will not hold your spot for that school. Things you can do to increase your chances of being accepted off the wait list:
1) |
Send your second trimester grades (if they are better than your 1st trimester grades) to the college. If you come to the College Placement Office, we can fax them for you.
2) |
Write a letter to the college - include why that college is your top choice and anything new that has occurred since you filled out your application for the school (for example, you were named captain of a team or received an award).
